ABOUT THE BAKER

There’s a running joke in the breadmaking community about people finding the hobby during rough times in their lives. While she’s always baked, artisan baking became a real passion for Emily when she was struggling after some unexpected roadblocks. Kneading dough and rolling out pastry became a touchstone that, now that life has calmed down, has continued to bring her joy in the most delicious way possible.

Her style of baking involves taking your everyday favorites and making them into something special by using high-quality ingredients and a small-batch, artisan touch. Emily’s lived in Richfield since 2017. When she’s not baking, Emily works as a content writer and graphic designer. She can’t wait to share her bakes with you!

Why magpie? The bakery was named after Maggie, Emily’s rescue pocket pitbull.

Maggie is the world’s least helpful baking assistant but she’s great at offering moral support. She loves to hoard toys, lick faces, and eat snacks. (Don’t worry—she’s safely away from the kitchen when we’re baking and packing your orders!)

Magpie Bakehouse is proudly LGBTQIA+ owned and operated.
